The Wind
A story for the ages. From adolescence to adulthood. Here’s my story.
Yovani meets the wind
“The story unfolds before YOVANI’S very own eyes. Starry-eyed as the night’s dark stars.”
chapter one.
"The story unfolds before YOVANI’S very own eyes. Starry-eyed as the night’s dark stars. Where I was placed on as a cocoon looking upwards to an unseen light that would hide behind a crescent descendent moon. Where the stars winking down and making my heart smile, tickling the vibrations of my soul. The sheds of prickling wood looked daring down hoping to make their way downwards as they deviously smiled into a pack of wolves."
“rowing in a boat that was not swaying with the wind was how my mother brought oscar into the world. THE WIND RAILED movements BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO PASS THROUGH the door. HE WAS A FORCE TO BE RECKON WITH BUT NO MOTHER TO TAKE CARe OF him. HE BECAME HIS ONLY."
Chapter One: The Wind
I was the wind until I became nothing to become everything. I realized I could be anyone I wanted but the people in front of me decided for me. They chose to live the life I live and they chose the wrong pathways for a person of my being. I am Yovani Bernardo Santana Garcia Berrios Florez. They all have meaning. They all have a saying in the future in which I hold my responsibility to the wind. Every version of my name tells the story of the island that raised me. It was a coldness day the day that I was born. I was born in Spring. I love Winter. Winter is the season of my being and the cold that runs in my veins. Spring brought me Bambi. I wanted to meet Thumper but he chose the same pathway but different variations. Thumper and Bambi were never supposed to meet in the same world but God put them together to infuse the fireworks that needed to be ignited in the sky so we could be free. My mother came to me as a women and I a child but she saw me as a women. It is a difficult domino to explain. The white domino that never gets played. That is how my mother sees me. When it came to my brother I realized he was the opposite of whom I am and whom I want to become. Whom. He is an actor and I am a star. He wants to star in a movie. The movie has yet to start. Because I am not ready yet.
